Newest first. Since 0.15, Glea checks for updates in the background, downloads them on its own and shows a Relaunch to Update pill when one is ready; Glea ▸ Check for Updates… checks now. Each version’s disk image is on GitHub, where the source carries the same history with the engineering detail left in.
Find in your notes: ⌘F searches the note you're reading, or every day shown in the journal. It ignores case and accents, highlights each match, and ⌘G / ⇧⌘G go to the next and previous ones. You can keep writing while it's open; closing it puts the cursor on the match.
In All Notes, ⌘F goes to the search, which is just a magnifier until you use it. Esc clears it, then closes it.
Clicking beside a note in All Notes no longer opens or drags it.
Find in Page no longer stops you clicking the page while it's open.
Buttons no longer stay highlighted after the page under them changes.
Settings, in Glea ▸ Settings… (⌘,): its Browser pane has vertical tabs, the search engine, and a switch to open the links in your notes in another browser, which you pick. Pages you browse in Glea still open their links in its tabs.
Glea is listed among the web browsers in System Settings ▸ Desktop & Dock ▸ Default web browser.
Vertical tabs, in View ▸ Vertical Tabs: browsing gets a sidebar down the window's left, with the traffic lights, navigation, the tabs and the bar's buttons, the page beside it as a rounded card. Pinned tabs are tiles at its top; drag a tab onto them to pin it. Groups, collapsing and ⌥-dragging a tab onto another to group them work as in the bar. Drag the sidebar's edge to resize it. The notes keep their top bar.
Dragging a tab group, its line moves with it, and the other tabs keep their widths.
Embeds in notes no longer show in your browsing history.
Folding opens and closes with its height everywhere, where some only faded: All Notes' last group, a note's last section, long sections, groups and references taller than the window.
The chevrons on All Notes' groups are the same grey as a note's.
Glea Clipper keeps the popup's Into and Open Glea afterwards as you set them, and point and shoot, the context menu and the shortcut follow them: a new note is named after the page. (In Safari with this release; in Chrome and Firefox with Glea Clipper 1.0.2.)
Glea Clipper no longer says "Collected to Today" after point and shoot: it can't know where the capture went. (In Safari with this release; in Chrome and Firefox with Glea Clipper 1.0.1.)
Images linked by their bare name are found in your assets folder, like Obsidian's.
The chevrons on All Notes' groups show in the dark theme.
Glea Clipper for Safari comes with Glea: turn it on in Safari ▸ Settings ▸ Extensions to point and shoot in Safari, and collect selections, articles, images and links into Glea.
Automatic updates: Glea checks in the background, downloads new versions on its own, and shows a "Relaunch to Update" pill in the top bar when one is ready. Glea ▸ Check for Updates… checks now.
Glea Clipper browser extensions (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) collect into Glea through glea://capture: point and shoot, selections, articles, images and links.
Point and shoot shows on Reddit and leaves icons out of captures.
Long notes open faster, styled from the top a part at a time.
Smooth window resizing: text, media and the gutter follow as you drag.
Long sections open visibly; images in list items get room below them.
Obsidian compatibility: links to headings and blocks, ![[embeds]] of files and notes (rendered in place), frontmatter properties, aliases and tags, #tags, ==highlights==, %%comments%% and callouts. The link menu completes headings and blocks, and # completes tags.
Math in notes: $…$ and $$…$$ LaTeX, typeset as you write. Click a formula to edit its source where you clicked; \ offers LaTeX commands, Tab moves between their arguments.
Point and shoot collects YouTube videos and X, Bluesky and Instagram posts as embeds, on those sites and on pages that embed them. Hold ⌥⌘ to collect their text instead.
The Collected toast links to the note, stays longer, and stays while hovered.
